Amir has nearly two decades of Asian markets experience across research, equities and regional management at three major financial institutions.
He began his career in financial services at J.P. Morgan, where he advanced to Executive Director within the China Markets team. There, he was instrumental in establishing a leading macro-thematic research franchise for global institutional investors before transitioning to a group role focusing on APAC strategic initiatives.
He worked at Deutsche Bank from 2014 to 2017, focusing on Renminbi internationalization initiatives across all asset classes and led the development of China group strategy for the bank’s global management board.
From 2017 to 2023, he worked as an Asian Equity Strategist at HSBC Global Research, where he was also a member of research management responsible for the division’s client strategy and corporate access initiatives. Amir has also recently served as a consultant to HKU School of Business, where he worked earlier in his career as a senior researcher.
He established Boundary Advisors to provide strategy advisory, investor relations, engagement solutions, and bespoke research/thought leadership. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison and the University of Hong Kong.
