I’m Anderson Lopes, a finance executive with over two decades of international experience in Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk Management, and Financial Planning. I hold a degree in Business Administration from PUC-SP (Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo), Brazil.
I started my professional journey early, joining AIG as an intern at age 19 and earning two promotions during my time there. After studying English in Dublin, I returned to Brazil and began my Internal Audit career at Ford Motor Company, where I had the opportunity to participate in audit assignments across Argentina, Colombia, and Venezuela.
In 2003, I joined KPMG in São Paulo, focusing on Sarbanes-Oxley Act reviews and internal audits for major multinationals. I later moved to Dublin, Ireland, to work for Ernst & Young, where I led Internal Audit engagements across Europe, particularly in the technology sector.
Back in Brazil, I joined General Motors as a Lead Internal Auditor, gaining broad exposure through assignments across Latin America and Africa. In 2010, I transitioned to Coats Plc, a global textile manufacturing company, initially as Internal Audit Coordinator, taking part in international assignments across 18 countries.
At Coats, I moved into my first executive role as Finance Director for the Andean Cluster, where I was responsible for financial planning and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. I was later promoted to Business & Finance Controller for Latin America, where I led change initiatives to enhance the control environment, especially in Mexico and Brazil, and managed key strategic projects, including a Tax Merger in Brazil.
Following that, I became the Finance Business Partner for Mexico & Central America, where I successfully rebuilt the finance team, strengthened compliance, and ensured business continuity during the height of the pandemic. I also led a complex legal restructuring initiative to ensure regulatory alignment and process simplification. In my final year at Coats, I served as Finance Business Partner for South America, supporting the company’s divestment strategy for its operations in Brazil and Argentina, including M&A execution and transition management.
Today, I’m the founder of my own firm, Sector A Consulting, where I offer hands-on advisory services in internal audit, risk, compliance, and strategic financial planning to clients across various industries. My mission is to help companies grow sustainably, operate ethically, and achieve operational and financial excellence.
