Ben Goldsteen advises clients in the health care sector on strategy, operations, data, and analytics (SODA). During his 15+ years innovating in health care, Ben has partnered with startups to large health systems to develop and successfully deliver on high-performance strategies. A common theme across roles he’s held in consulting and health care systems is leading teams to drive change using data.
He has deep experience in operations and performance improvement across both corporate functions (e.g. finance, HR) and clinical departments (e.g. emergency, surgery). While at Deloitte Consulting, he led client engagements that yielded hundreds of millions of dollars in measurable, ongoing benefits for large health systems. His largest engagement included an enterprise assessment of a $2B health system, overseeing development of over 300 key enterprise initiatives, and then implementing an executive accountability and benefit measurement model as part of a PMO he oversaw that ensured realization of $200M in recurring P/L impact. Other projects include developing an introductory text on the U.S. health care system and building a high-impact analytics function to advance VBP initiatives at the largest municipal health systems in the United States.
Ben is passionate about transforming the healthcare system to deliver better quality care for more patients, more efficiently. His recent focus has been on introducing value-based payment (VBP) models and population health initiatives as a catalyst for better outcomes at lower cost.
