Darren has proven successes in leading corporate public and private company mergers, acquisitions and strategic investing from strategy formulation, origination, execution through integration to create new business platforms in the technology and telecommunications industries and accelerate global and diversification ambitions into reality.
Over the past six years, Darren was responsible for building and leading the 30-person Corporate Development Centre of Excellence at TELUS Corp. (a Canadian-based, global technology and telecommunications organization with a US$45B Enterprise Value) that executes on inorganic growth projects and corporate finance special initiatives, including divisional spin-outs and private equity investing, large strategic investments and managing investment governance for the TELUS CFO, Executive Leadership Team and CEO on acquisitions and integrations.
After establishing the centre of excellence his mandate was to steward and facilitate an expected material increase in corporate acquisitions (M&A) and shareholder value enhancing transactions as the company looked to create new business units in business-to-business software and services, scale customer connections and scale and accelerate existing TELUS Health and TELUS International business units.
