Jelger Groenland is a senior trusted advisor and fractional CISO. He led large cybersecurity transformation programs and teams to manage cybersecurity risk effectively. He worked as an interim CISO and in cybersecurity leadership roles globally, advising senior management and c-level executives. He has experience delivering programs and consulting assignments through both on-site and remote client engagements.
Jelger holds an MSc in Business Administration from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands and qualifications from the University of Washington, USA. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), speaks regularly at conferences and publishes articles about cybersecurity.
In his free time he enjoys running marathons and finished the 250 km Marathon des Sables race in the Sahara desert in 2025.
