Originally from Monrovia, Liberia, Joseph Sawo immigrated to the United States as a child and grew up in Philadelphia. He is a U.S. Air Force combat veteran with a deployment to Kuwait and holds dual graduate degrees in MBA and MS in Cybersecurity from Webster University, following his undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University.
Professionally, Joseph is a technology consultant and the founder of The Navolei Group, a real estate investment and development firm with a growing 17 unit portfolio across Cleveland, Dayton, and Central Ohio.
His focus is on disciplined execution, long term value creation, and building scalable models in multi family, single family, and build to rent projects.
Beyond business, Joseph is deeply engaged in community and diaspora leadership. He has founded and chaired nonprofits dedicated to African development, coordinated shipments of more than 20,000 educational books, and funded the construction of multiple drinking wells in rural Liberia. He also serves as a graduate speaker for leadership and development programs, connecting professional growth with community empowerment.
