Michael Ackerbauer leads Ackerbauer Laboratories, a 3rd-generation consultancy specializing in organizational culture and leadership development facilitation and training.
He is a 25-year veteran of IBM, where he led change initiatives for multiple organizations and clients. Over the course of his career, Michael has led transformations and developed learning and technology innovations in healthcare, HR, finance, retail, and global industry.
Prior to IBM, Michael worked for multiple startup companies as an IS/IT manager and technology consultant and has led numerous first-of-a-kind innovation initiatives.
He was a leader in IBM’s mobile and social computing initiatives, as well as the company’s Agile transformation, spearheading worldwide enablement and adoption. He is an Agile coach and learning innovator.
As the Managing Director and Principal Consultant of Ack Labs, Michael provides change leadership facilitation, coaching, and training for organizational leaders, with a focus on business agility, operational excellence, and applied innovation.
Michael also teaches graduate-level courses on Change Leadership at Marist College and Organizational Creativity & Innovation at Buffalo State University.
Michael is known for a leadership style that combines strategic vision with a passion for structuring teams to unlock deliberate creativity. He is also a certified rock balancer.
