Michel Brekelmans is an experienced strategy consultant with 25+ years of experience supporting business leaders in strategy development, performance improvement and M&A. He has been based in Singapore since 2002.

Michel worked 20 years at L.E.K. Consulting, joining the London office as an Associate and ultimately working as Senior Partner and member of L.E.K.’s Asia leadership team. In 2017, Michel set up a boutique strategy consulting firm supporting clients across the Asia-Pacific region.

Specializing in growth strategies, M&A, and performance improvement, he has been instrumental in guiding business leaders through complex strategic challenges and driving growth and performance of their organisations.  Michel has focused his expertise on companies in the consumer and B2B sectors, completing over 250 assignments, with a significant portion involving private equity firms.

Michel has turned his experience into a structured approach to go from strategy and organisation review to realigning management and board around a set of priorities focussed on driving the value of their business. He successfully works with management teams of multinational corporates and private equity portfolio companies and partners with client teams or other advisers with supplementary skills in organisation and leadership development, commercial and operational excellence, and technology tools.

Michel’s strengths lie in his empathetic and hands-on management style, strong research, analytical and modelling skills, and intellectual acumen—recognized by being a two-time winner of L.E.K.’s Global Client Impact Award. His strong work ethic and excellent project and client management skills ensures he delivers and get’s the job done. He was as a top revenue generator in L.E.K.’s China practice and a builder of long-term client relationships which he has carried through in his practice after leaving L.E.K.

Michel is adept at the full strategy consulting cycle, from designing market research and data analytics, to facilitating strategy workshops with senior executives and the board, and ultimately to facilitate implementation and change management through the development of execution plans, KPI’s and progress tracking.
