Dr. Mohammad Washid is Strategy and Sustainability Consultant with proven track record of assessment and advising on global and regional oil, gas and petrochemical projects regarding competitiveness, impact and strategic fit with extensive corporate, consultancy and academic experience of over 25 years.
His specializations include market intelligence, business development, business and sustainability strategy, portfolio assessment, economic analysis, JV project development and investment decisions. He also has practical exposure of leading and facilitating the implementation of BCM (business continuity management), ERM (enterprise risk management) and acted as QMS Lead Auditor.
He is Founder and Director of MWC LLC, a global technical and management consultancy, research and advisory firm registered on Qatar Financial Center (QFC) platform, offering operational excellence program development, implementation and tracking to improve business outcomes.
Previously, Dr. Washid worked with QatarEnergy (www.qatarenergy.qa), Doha (Qatar) and SABIC (www.sabic.com), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), where he provided expertise and specialised commercial analysis to emerging projects and opportunities, the development and acquisition plans for global and regional petroleum upstream and downstream projects and supported executive management in strategic decision making while advising and delivering analytical input on industry assessments and business prospects.
Dr. Washid acted as principal academic and executive officer responsible for the establishment of College of Management and initiated the first batch of MBA (Oil & Gas Management) as Founder Dean at India’s only Energy domain specific University, University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (www.upes.ac.in), Dehradun (India). He was also associated as a Program Director and Assistant Professor with All India Management Association (www.aima.in) at New Delhi (India) and as an Adjunct Faculty with Robert Kennedy College (https://rkc.swiss/), Switzerland.
Dr. Washid holds Masters’ degree in Economics and Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from Aligarh Muslim University, India and received Doctorate (PhD) in Management from University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, India for the thesis “Strategic Investment Decisions in the Petrochemical Sector: A comparative Study of GCC Countries”.
He actively participated and contributed on various forum, committee and associations like Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), Middle East Petrotech, World Petroleum Congress (WPC) and Gulf Downstream Association (GDA).
