Rachel Loui is a visionary global life sciences and technology executive with extensive experience in corporate strategy, sales, and marketing. She specializes in finding creative ways to help life sciences, digital health, health & wellness, and consumer companies achieve their growth and revenue potential in existing and new markets. Her talent is optimizing a company’s full value proposition by understanding customer needs, translating the offering into business language that best resonates with decision makers and budget holders, and deploying insights through innovative sales and marketing activities that drive customer action.

Rachel is currently an investor, board advisor, and fractional Chief Commercial Strategy Officer at Modicus Prime, a pharma-specific computer vision software startup. She is actively looking for additional life sciences and digital health companies to help accelerate as an investor, board advisor/member, or fractional global commercial executive.

Before transitioning full time to board and fractional work, Rachel was most recently at Google as an International Growth executive. There, she became well versed at creatively acquiring customers on a global scale. She helped US-based clients identify and optimize market expansion opportunities. She generated international ad revenue for Google while enabling clients to best understand and target high value customers.

Rachel has first-hand experience turning an idea into a viable business. She was a digital health startup founder and CEO with the intent to disrupt the global pharma sales process. She also began giving back as an investor, advisor, and business coach to other startups through Techstars, UCSF, and Health 2.0 accelerator programs.

Rachel’s inventive strategies and cross-functional partnerships have applied to–and broken silos across–all pharma departments throughout APAC, EMEA and AMER. She was Boehringer Ingelheim’s Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Business Operations for China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. She managed a 60-person department and dotted line reported to the Board of Directors in Germany HQ. As CSO, Rachel identified untapped revenue and profit opportunities in the Greater China region, collaborated across all departments to execute, and exchanged insights with AMER and EMEA counterparts to scale novel revenue drivers globally.

Rachel began her career focused on the art and science of persuasive communication through management consulting at Accenture before becoming a VP and Unit Group Director at Omnicom and Interpublic Group advertising agencies, respectively. Her foundation in understanding customers and finding the “mutual win” attributes to her career success in commercial functions–a skill she looks forward to sharing with companies to accelerate their maximum potential.
