An experienced consultant and functional head, I am a trainer and advisor in AI adoption and knowledge management, working in contract and fractional roles to enable organisations to realise the opportunities afforded by AI with equal confidence, prudence, ambition and pragmatism.
My career in AI reaches back to academic and commercial research during the 1980s and 1990s when I was involved in two AI start-ups, including one sold to Deloitte. In consulting I advised organisations in the public and private sector across the technology, change and operating model fields, also advising the UK Government on AI technology transfer, including neural computing, a foundation of today’s large language models.
I established knowledge management as a service at KPMG and Unisys, advised major organisations and governments internationally on knowledge management and have held senior in-house leadership roles including Head of Knowledge at BAE Systems and Systemiq. As AI re-emerged into the mainstream, I re-engaged deeply with the field and, in the 2020s, have led AI adoption, covering strategy, business case, tool selection, and training.
My work today draws on deep AI and KM foundations and extensive experience in IT, operations, change and consulting to deliver impact through AI adoption and knowledge management solutions.
