Silvina Piacentino - Member Profile

I started my career in the early ’90s at Price Waterhouse, working as a systems consultant. I learned the foundations of IT consulting, from software implementation to business analysis, and had the chance to collaborate on international projects. It was a solid start that gave me structure and curiosity. Soon after, I joined Banco de Galicia, where I led process redesign projects in cash management and treasury. That’s where I first saw how technology and business truly interact — and how redesigning a process can improve both customer experience and operational control.

But the most defining part of my career came with YPF, Argentina’s leading energy company, where I spent almost three decades. I took on roles in IT, process optimization, and project leadership. Over time, I managed cross-functional teams, oversaw more than 140 applications, and led strategic programs involving SAP, RPA, Web, GIS, BI and different technologies as soon as they were part of our IT ecosystem.

One of my proudest achievements was leading the creation of Centers of Excellence (CoEs), which delivered over USD 23 million in savings and helped transform how IT and business worked together. I also coordinated the full IT planning cycle and worked closely with senior executives to align technology with organizational goals.

Along the way, I deepened my skills through postgraduate studies in Oil & Gas Economics, Management, and Digital Transformation with AI. I believe continuous learning is key, especially in fast-moving environments.

Today, I work as an independent consultant. I help companies design smarter processes, manage projects with impact, and lead meaningful change. I’m especially interested in digital transformation, process design, and AI applied to operations.

Outside of work, I enjoy mountain hiking, kayaking, music, and supporting community causes. I’m always curious, always learning, and always looking for what can be improved.
